Jim McLain was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona and has lived here for over 50 years. After graduating from Peoria High School, he spent six years traveling the world while serving in the United States Marine Corps, an experience that shaped his vision of an honorable and honest approach to every business relationship.

Jim entered roofing in Arizona in 1983, training under a large Arizona contractor on every type of roofing system. He worked his way up to supervisor, ran roofing and retrofit projects across the country, then returned to school for advanced construction safety training. He went on to teach 10-hour OSHA certifications to other roofing contractors.

In time, Jim purchased a roofing company and built it into what is now Canyon State Roofing and Consulting. He believes education is the foundation of a successful business, and he personally handles consultations to make sure every customer understands exactly what their roof needs and why.

His word is the standard every crew member is held to.
